Review on 🚘 Traxion 5-100 Tailgate Ladder: Easy Access for Your Vehicle's Rear, Black Finish by John Mceachern

Grandpa's lifeguard

Based on some reviews I almost bought this item. Then I looked at the latest reviews and saw almost all 5 star reviews so I took a chance. Wow, that thing is great! It was easy to install on my GMC pickup. The only issue I had was the screws that attach the hardware to the tailgate. I followed the instructions for sizing the holes, but two of the screws stripped the threads when I started screwing them in. The metal in the tailgate was stronger than the cheap metal in the bolts. I simply enlarged the screw holes a bit by rotating the drill bit after the hole was made and I had no more problems. I'm getting too old to crawl over the bumper to climb into the back of a pickup truck, and the two-foot ladder I used verges on danger. This ladder has the base resting on the ground and you can hold onto the bed railing to balance. I wish I had those Traxion liftgate ladders from 5-100 years ago. PS - The box says 'Improved' so they may have fixed some of the issues that previous buyers had. {Now they just need better metal in the mounting screws, but I still give 5 stars}
