I was looking for compression shorts with a pocket and the design of these shorts looked great. I love that they have a drawstring so they don't slip off when you run. Compression, however, generally means that the fabric is actively compressed when worn. They have less "compression" than non-compression shorts or good quality spandex leggings. The fabric is really thin and has very little strength. The best word I can think of to describe it is flimsy. The pocket is big enough for my phone, but it's really difficult to put it in because the fabric has such a weak structure, it's like trying to put something in a wet fabric pocket. The design they have is good and I would pay 2 or 3 times more for it if they used a higher quality material that had some substance in it.
