I thought they were made in Russia. It doesn't say anywhere that it's made in China. They are of cheaper quality, the wood is very thin. They are suitable for what I use them for. but the description was deceptive. They said they were handmade in a traditional way. but the wood was turned, not hand-carved. The picture is not what I imagined.
