I bought this product because I needed a charcoal powder that tries to mask the ashy taste of regular charcoal and because it contains organic ingredients. I don't think there's anything anyone can do to successfully mask the taste, but it was a good try. I've been using it for 3 days now and after the first try my husband and I noticed a noticeable change in the whiteness of our teeth. I wasn't skeptical about buying this product, knowing the properties of charcoal in the lab (as an adsorbent), so this is another application of its chemical properties. While charcoal does get your teeth very clean, make sure you continue to use fluoridated toothpaste as it strengthens your teeth and can help prevent tooth decay. It should be noted that it is dirty. This is not due to the brand, but to the properties of the shredded charcoal. Also, I have to floss for about 5 minutes after use as the charcoal gets into the gum line. Others don't notice, but the line that hits my tooth is sandy gray if I'm not careful. My routine is to brush with charcoal, floss, fluoride toothpaste and maybe rinse my mouth afterwards. I will continue to use this product even though it added a few extra minutes to my routine. It's better than over-the-counter teeth whitening products because it's more inactive.
