Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wow! - Updated - No Longer 5 Stars

This is my first 5 star rating/review and I have given many. So why am I so impressed with this set? Well, first I have to tell you that I haven't tried a mouse and never will, as my mouse preference is Logitech® Wireless Trackballs. Therefore, this review does not talk about the usability of the mouse. But I like this keyboard for several reasons. First, it's small, and when I'm using it while sitting on my living room chair, I appreciate that it's not too wide, but still maintains normal key spacing. Also, it's not as "deep" as some, from the gap to the top. I appreciate that because I also have a macaw (large parrot) that loves to sit on my lap and the deeper keyboard is a little annoying as I cramp and the keyboard is too close to my waist to get around easy to type. I don't experience it with that. There may be a key or two he doesn't have, but none I'll ever need are missing. It also has a great "feel". I like the resistance the buttons offer when pressed. They feel solid and well made. I also like the "bulged out" keys (see the closeup of the photo in the product listing to see what I mean by "bulged out". I actually seem to be a bit more accurate with them than with flat keys. This set works with 2.4GHz WiFi, but don't be fooled by the fact that it will work on your home or other WFI network. It has its own 2.4GHz connection implemented with a 2.4GHz receiver in the form of a USB dongle that picks up a 2.4GHz signal from the keyboard and mouse. Thus, any computer device with a USB port can use this package. No drivers or software are required. It's plug and play unless you have a Mac like me. And yet it's still plug and play, but with a few flipped keys that can be changed for Mac users. To do this, simply hold down the "fn" key (2nd key from the left, bottom row) and the "Q" key, and the function of the "win" and "alt" keys changes to "alt" and "cmd". " for Mac users. In other words, the two keys only change the functions for the Mac user. However, there is no need to make this change. It works well with Mac even if it is still in Windows mode , as long as you remember that the function of these 2 buttons is reversed, similarly in mac mode it still works in windows if the user remembers again that these 2 buttons are reversed than what they are used to I think being able to remap these two keys is a really standout feature.. I haven't seen any other keyboard that could do that, although I'm pretty sure I haven't seen them all. To put it back in to bring the windows format it's the "fn" key plus the "w" key. The only issue I'm not sure about yet is that it uses rechargeable batteries. That means , that I have to train myself, e s charge every night before bed. The battery life of other wireless keyboards I've had was over a year before I needed a replacement, so I really don't see much of an advantage over rechargeable keyboards. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. Of course, since I just received it, I can't comment on the durability. But by feel I suspect it will last for years. If I ever find out anything else, I'll post an update. 03/06/21 - Update: when I started using the keyboard today, it went back to windows format by itself! Of course, it only took a quick press of the "fn" and "Q" keys to bring it back into Mac format, but it's an imperfection and I can't justify a 5-star rating anymore. So it looks like this thing has a habit of changing its settings in one night on either Mac or Windows! Now it's been done twice. It's not a terrible inconvenience as pressing a few keys changes it back. The fact that it can be switched from Windows format to Mac format is now the only reason I don't give it 3 stars! In fact, I still like it more than most keyboards I've used!
