I made sure I had a good crimping tool as mentioned in other comments. I used dialytic lube before crimping. Just because I had some. For the heat shrink tubing, I just used butane grill starter. And it worked great! I was a little apprehensive about using an open flame for heat shrink tubing, but it was listed as an option in the instructions. I never thought this would be possible with regular heat shrink tubing. I heated it up and right at the end of the shrink the sealant started flowing through the tube and out the end. A piece of cake. I was very impressed with the overall quality of the parts included. But you get what you pay for and it's not Chinese quality. Made in the USA.
