I bought this for short walks or hikes. I wanted to carry something other than a big backpack, I always want to take a bag to put water in it etc. It's better than I thought. I like the 'hidden' pocket on the back which makes it a good duffel bag too. It's well made and I think I'll use it for travel as well (if it's possible again). I've spent a lot of money on other "travel" backpacks and wish I had found this one sooner, I like it better! Very happy with this purchase!
