Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Bass-Boosted Bluetooth 5.0 Stereo Audio Amplifier for Home Speakers: BT30A by Pao Novakovic

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice sound but may require a preamp

I use it to drive two vintage Advent midrange drivers and a 10" subwoofer. The subwoofer initially had power, but the amplifier failed. So I bought this 4.2 amp subwoofer to use a 100 watt subwoofer in it instead of the one in my unpowered subwoofer. This was easily done by removing the back of the subwoofer, cutting off the power cord and cutting a hole through the cabinet so I could connect speaker wire directly from the subwoofer of a 4.2 amp amp to the speaker. As long as I keep the bass control turned down, it actually results in very good sound quality from the amp and speakers. The only problem that remains is that when using my tablet with Spotify as the source, the upper volume range is only negligible (it doesn't get loud enough even on the highest settings). To fix this, I installed a preamp between the tablet and the 4.2 amp designed to drive the headphones. Eureka! Good sound. If you're using a device that produces a higher level input then you probably don't need a preamp, but for a mobile phone or tablet you will. It's safest to just wait and see if you're happy with the maximum volume and then act accordingly. After setting everything up, I was very happy with the result. Good sound. Little footprint. Can't beat the price.
