Great product for small areas or low ceilings. Lots of features. Maybe a bit overpriced.

I was looking for a flat built-in fan for my son's room. We recently bought him a loft bed for his room which put him too close to an existing ceiling fan and put him at risk of being hit by the blades. During my search, I had no idea that such sealed fans existed on the market. This is perfect for my needs. With the added benefit of LED lighting. The light is not changeable. But it's an LED, so in theory it should last for many years depending on the quality. The included remote control is a nice feature. With it you can turn the light on and off as well as switch between 3 different lighting settings. You can also set 3 fan speeds with the remote control. This fan also features an adjustable motorized air deflector on the bottom of the fan that rotates to direct the air in the desired direction. The partition wall can also be controlled by the remote control. The baffle can be run continuously as a kind of oscillating fan or stopped when you point it in the desired direction. The remote also has a fan sleep timer with 3 settings: 1, 2 and 4 hours. The remote control uses a 12V A23 battery, which is custom sized but easily found at most battery stores. This battery can last more than 5 years! The mounting hardware did not match my existing ceiling fan mount which was in the ceiling, but this was easily remedied by drilling a small hole (see pictures) in the bracket provided. The mounting hardware they provide involves using plastic Molly drywall screws in the ceiling. Even with 4 of those screws and shells I still felt uncomfortable mounting it this way. But if that's your only option, the fan is very light and I'm sure this method will work fine in the end. The fan blade diameter itself is small, only about 12 inches, but even so, this little fan moves some air. at full speed. I really wish the slowest speed was a bit higher as almost nothing gets done at that speed, but to be honest it will most likely just run at full speed anyway. The light can be turned on and off with a wired wall switch, but the fan itself can only be turned on with the remote control. However, if the fan is already running and you turn off the same light switch, the fan will turn off, just not turn on again, but the light will come on. I really wish this fan had the ability to interface with the fan and light up separate switches. This is my only serious complaint about this fan. I figured the $200 price tag would be justified given the opportunity. But these days it seems a bit overpriced, but not by much. I would say $175-$180 is better. In the end I am very happy with this purchase and I recommend it to everyone. Hope the quality holds up. If not I will come back to edit and update this review.
