I had 2 meat thermometers, one broke and the other required a PhD so I was looking for new ones and this is one of the models I chose and glad I did. It's easy to use, accurate, and has a plug extension if you don't want to get close to the heat. All you have to do is open it, push the button and it's ready to use, you can use it in F or C and the rest is just testing it and reading the display. It couldn't be simpler, which is why it gets 5 stars for VALUE + PERFORMANCE + EASE OF USE + ACCURACY (yes, I tested it)
