First some math on how to figure how much battery you need and how long it should last.Ah which no one knows how to figure into Watt Hours which is what you need.Voltage X Ah = Watt Hours.So 12v X 200Ah = 2400 Watt Hours. Which you can use 40 to 50 percent of without damaging AGM batteries. So in reality out of a single 200 Ah battery you can use 1200 Watt Hours.A few more numbers. :)100% charge 12.80 - 15 volts75% charge 12.60 volts50% charge 12.30 volts25% charge 12.00 volts THIS WILL DAMAGE YOUR AGM BATTERYI would not recommend these batteries maybe other AGM batteries are better? But at 50% use AGM batteries are just not worth the money. Lithium batteries can discharge to 97% without damage or losing mass voltage. So a 200 Ah Lithium battery you can use 197 Ah or 2364 Watt Hours and not damage the batteries.For me I have 2 200 Ah batteries so 12v X 400 Ah = 4800 Watt Hours divided by 50%. I should have 2400 Watt hours to use. I monitor everything with "Killowatt Gauges" so I know how much power I use all the time and I always round up. I live 100% of grid on 88 acres in the middle of the Tennessee mountains building a new home. So I monitor everything, electric, fuel, frig, batteries. I use 3 12 volt flooded deep cell batteries for the camper, one just for starting the generator, two to run camper lights, water pump, frig (frig is 120v 12v/Propane)Power use for me on these batteries ranges between 140 watts to 265 watts per hour.So on 2400 Watt hours I should go 17.1 hours at 140 watts. But these Renogy 200 Ah X 2 batteries ONLY last 7 hours to 55%. which is less then 50% of what they should last. And they are only 3 months old.2400 Watt hours using 265 watts per hour I should get 9 hours. But these Renogy 200 Ah X 2 batteries I get about 2.5 hours and they are at 63%.So in reality with these Renogy AGM batteries you get about 50% or less of the 50% you should be able to use with AGM batteries.Things you should get if you're planning on using batteries like I do.1. MPPT charger (I use an 80 amp)2. Solar Panels and get the ones that work best for where you are using them.(I use 8 100 watt Monocrystalline 6 to charge the AGM batteries and 1 100 watt Amorphous)3. Voltage meter / gauge (I use an Ideal)4. One or two 10 to 15 amp battery chargers that support Flooded, AGM & Lithium.(I use one 10 amp and one 15 amp. So when the batteries run out at 1:30 am I can recharge them)If burning gas in the generator matters to you? More amps during charging = less generator time.Charge times for one battery: (these are estimates on average batteries)12.60v 75% 30 amps = 50 minutes, 20 amps = 1 hour & 15 minutes, 10 amps 2.5 hours.12.30v 50% 30 amps = 1 hour & 50 minutes, 20 amps = 2 hours & 45 minutes, 10 amps 5.2 hours.Thanks for reading!beast-usa
