Review on ๐Ÿง Enhance Your Baking with the Flex Edge Beater for KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer: 4.5-5 Quart Flat Beater Paddle with Bowl Scraper and Silicone Edge by Rod Evans

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Scrape the contents into the bowl while stirring.

Availability I received a KitchenAid Queen of Hearts Centennial Edition Stand Mixer that came with a 5 liter blender. stainless steel bowl. I mentioned this because the compatibility calculator for this pick hammer couldn't tell me if it was suitable for this setup. Is that so. I thought this would scrape the sides of the bowl while mixing, but that's not really what it's designed for. It just takes a lot of work scraping the sides of the bowl with a spatula. It's really good for cake batter and eliminates pockets of dry stuff hiding on the sides and bottom of the bowl. For bread dough and other things that you mix in the bowl and then take out and put back in the bowl, it really doesn't do any better than the standard whisk that comes with the mixer. It has many small cracks and grooves. Whisk, especially in the areas near the silicone edges where the material to be mixed can collect. You need a brush to remove these small parts, so downed one star for easy cleaning. There is also a cleanliness rating. Sounds like a feature of sexy lingerie, so maybe the photos should be of a Victoria's Secret model. I suspect this relates to the design of the whisk and scraper, perhaps their perpendicularity to the axis of the bowl, and I've deducted a star for the sheer (should I use Purity instead?) lack of information on this feature. Justifies the low price.

Pros
  • Multipurpose Flat Beater: Ideal for thin cookie dough, butter, pie dough, whipped cream, mashed potatoes and more, but NOT for hard dough. Do not use the blade in a dry bowl.
