It's solid and well made but not accurate enough for finishing touches. It has an eighth, sixteenth and thirty-second inch scale and a millimeter scale. I tested it on a trusted engineer's square and it was off the scale length by about 1/128 inch. In comparison, my Starrett combination square compares perfectly to my reference square and has a 1/64 inch scale instead of metric. To me that's fine for some rough carpentry work, but more precision is needed, such as carpentry. B. setting a corner bracket on a table saw.
