Lights up slightly orange in pictures and more yellow than white. They work great and are so nice to hang on the wall and can be controlled with the remote control. I love the timer feature and it works great! I love that when you use the remote and select the timer all the candles will flash to let you know they've received a signal. Don't worry in the house of small children and pets. Highly recommended for the price. Batteries are required but I like that it's a simple AA battery and not a watch battery or some weird battery. It's easy to change the battery. A couple of mine got knocked off the railing and fell a good way down the stairs and still work fine so seems pretty solid for random events like this.
