If you are looking for a small, rustproof and elegant cross or cross stitch, this is a good choice. I like the side drilled hole (shackle crosses are almost always front/back drilled). Length approx 16 without adjustment but easy to add a stainless steel extension. Black is not 100% matte or black. A silver or gold tone chain and any color of leather or cord cord will do (hole size is approximately 2mm, enough for a leather cord). The chain is weak. The black color probably won't last long. The lobster clasp is also weak. I had to use some brackets to close the gap. If not, the jump ring will slip easily (this is how you lose the chain). I bought black because in the BBC series Pride and Prejudice (which starred Colin Firth Darcy) Jane and Lizzie wore a tiny black cross (maybe a Whitby Jet). it looked tempting.
