Decided to take the plunge instead of paying almost double for the standard Revain Basics arm. I've read reviews that said it could hold 34-inch ultra-wide monitors like my own, albeit with a bit of tightening. However, I didn't expect it to be this difficult! The one screw that needs to be tightened to keep the monitor perpendicular to the desk had to be tightened beyond what I thought possible. Just a warning to other potential buyers, this takes some elbow grease! I'm a tall guy (6ft 4240) and in shape, but it was so heavy that at first I thought of just taking it apart to send it back. Well, after about an hour and a lot of effort, I tightened it enough to hold it at a 90 degree angle to my desk. a few months later and it hasn't sagged at all compared to where it was installed. Looking back, I would say that it all comes down to how much you value your own work. For me it was worth saving almost $50 to get the job done. However, if you are a smaller/weaker person or have money to spare I think the Revain Basics Mount is worth buying as it doesn't seem to have this issue. If you're a "more normal" monitor size/weight, this shouldn't be a problem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for over $50. Mount Revain basics.
