This is my fourth GPS purchase and I am very happy with this unit. It's not as small as the Etrex range, but the color screen is bright and easy to read for my "not-so-young" eyes. It lacks some of the high-end reception that my GPSMAP 276C has, but it's a lot less bulky and seems to track satellites better with the new SiRF GPS chip. I use handheld GPS primarily for kite flying, logging my flights, and arranging pickups when traveling cross-country and landing along the road. It's easy to track your location and see where you've been with Tracks. Garmin is the gold standard for GPS in the flying crowd and we use it for flight tracking and judging in national competitions. It's reliable, easy to use and read, and the buttons are large enough to be operated with flying gloves. I also use this for hiking with TOPO maps loaded. Never let me down, but take extra batteries with you!
