I've bought a lot of so-called quick-to-read thermometers. By my standards, Maverick is the only true rapid read. Others I've tried take 2 to 3 minutes to read (Maverick takes 10 to 15 seconds) which means your food is already getting cold. All I can say is that this is one of the best in my personal opinion. Some reviews say it's hard to read, that's not entirely true. Even if it were, I'd rather use the real Rapid Read, Maverick.
