My kids use them in the pool. They work greatI use them to scare the crap out of my dog so she stays out of my vegetable garden after I put down blood meal fertilizer. Works like a champ. She purely hates water in all forms - rain, mist, the pool. She's terrified of puddles. She can have all the carrots she wants AFTER I pick them, but she can't go tromping through my lettuce, peppers, beans, melons, and tomatoes.
