Works but leaks even with a slight shake

The size and quality of the 3 liter jar appears to be good but the lid is designed not to be over tightened so that the neck always points outwards. Just by gently shaking the liquid (to dissolve the drink powder, stir the juice, etc.) it flows out. However, it will flow without leaking if you don't squeeze or shake too hard. I'm tempted to use a sharp knife and remove the plastic tabs that prevent the lid from screwing in more tightly and see how well it seals. The spout is no longer perfectly centered, but I don't care.
