Initial review August 20, 2021 I installed this on the hood of my boat. I started by skimming the 10 year old egg crate scum that was deteriorating. I cleaned the surface to allow this material to stick. I then applied this sound deadening material with a roller to make sure it adhered well to the engine cover. When I took the boat out to the lake I didn't notice the difference in noise level. I can't say this stuff is good or bad. I didn't feel like sailing a boat without sound deadening material to compare it to. I had to take the dB value before changing the material.
