I purchased this as a battery pack to power my fish finder. The fish finder draws 12 V at 800 mA. I built a waterproof enclosure for the battery pack, which has worked well. On a few trips, the battery pack was able to power the fish finder for more than 6 hours continuously. I have been very happy with the purchase, as it looks very well built and did what I needed it to do. Unfortunately, a few days ago, I was recharging the battery. Luckily, I was in the same room working on another project, when I smelled burning plastic. Looking over at the battery pack, smoke was rising from the pack, and the corner looked to be melting. After unplugging the charger and taking the pack outside, it slowly cooled off. Not sure if this was a problem with this particular unit, but that was a scary experience. If I was not in the same room, I am not sure if it would have escalated to a fire. I am not sure how to get in touch with the company to discuss this with them, other than leaving the feedback here.Update: If they have a rating system for customer service, they would get six stars. Very soon after my initial review was posted, they reached out to me. I explained the situation, and a replacement battery was sent out the next day. I have spent the past two weeks exhaustively charging and discharging the battery, with absolutely no problems so far. It is working very well powering my fish finder the whole day. A lot of companies could take lessons on customer service from TalentCell!
