Review on Keyboard Logitech MX Keys black, English by Adam Bronisz ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

I wanted something understated and tactilely appealing to counteract the melancholy of vast text arrays after multiple successful cherry switch mechanics. Was seeking for a scissor keyboard, and the most widely used option was mx keys. Although I won't claim that I approve of Logitech's pricing strategy, let's presume that the cost is more influenced by technological complexity than by advertising. The keyboard feels good to the touch and is slim and heavy. The keys have nice key engraving and a great tactile feel. The illumination for 2022 and English letters is consistent. There were no issues with setup, and various gadgets instantaneously connect to their bluetooth receivers. Text printing is a good feature. What else should I say about toys? Although the short key travel does not produce the same gaming feelings as the mechanics, the mechanics are still far more recommended for games. An overall score of 4.5/5. Although the keyboard is happy, there are certain details that should be refined.

Pros
  • 1. Aesthetics and construction (metal) 2. Key travel is brief and enjoyable with no reaction 3. Quiet 4. Latin and Cyrillic styles (the font and lettering on the keyboard are of the highest caliber and are on par with Makovsky's); 5. There are practically all the functionality you could ever need on the FN key. 6. One key, instantaneous switching between devices is really convenient. 7. Practical software 8. Connecting with practically minimal configuration to Windows, Linux, Mac, iOS, Android, and Xbox (under Linux, Solaar is utilized, configured with 3 commands in the terminal)
Cons
  • 1. Although backlights are advantageous, they are actually disadvantageous in this situation. If it functions statically, that's wonderful. But because the guys wanted to preserve the battery, the backlight only activates when your hands are raised and shuts off immediately when you take them away. Furthermore, it cannot be modified in apps. The lighting has a slight delay when turning on, which is the problem. Additionally, it is unpleasant to constantly anticipate the backlight to turn on at work when hands are brought to the keyboard every 10 seconds. Even if you completely turn off the backlight, the text on the keyboard is so faint that it blends into one hue in the evening. So it turns out that even when you look at the keyboard briefly to begin typing, you don't know where to begin, and a reflex expectation is formed to place your fingers on the keyboard, wait 100 milliseconds, and then look at it before beginning to type. I tried to capture how it seems because of the monitor's backlight and the dim lighting in the attached photo. 2. Design. The finger frequently mistakes F1 and F2 (escape where F1 should be and F2 where F1 should be) due to the traditional short left shift and large escape. 3. Key movement. It has both benefits and drawbacks. A brief and gentle brush is one thing, but there isn't any obvious physical feedback. In other words, pressing happens in two stages: make an effort, then feel the spring's tight job pulling the key away. Traditional laptop scissors, however not quite in the same way as in poppies. It is obvious that the key has already reached its conclusion. No adjustability to the leg. Since the form factor prevents you from doing such things out of habit, it is generally not important.
