I have purchased other portable rollers like this in the past. What I didn't like is that they are loud and harsh. So when you're pressing on a muscle, there's not much to give. This roller is quiet, the handle has a light grip so my hand doesn't slip, and the foam roller is firm but not hard so my muscles give a little even when I push down. So it's more like someone massaging me with their hand rather than a hard plastic tool. Highly recommended.
