As far as I know silicone doesn't smell like that; Several other comments have experienced the same thing. It absolutely stinks of outgassing chemicals and none of them smell like silicone. I've washed it, put it in the dishwasher and left it outside to air out, and it still smelled strong enough that I took it away from my daughter the first time she used it. Come back; not sure where this is produced but probably not somewhere with standards and accountability. I doubt the "non-toxic" and "BPA-free" ratings.
