I have bursitis on the ball of my feet due to lack of fat padding on that area. I have tried several products and kinda know what works best for my condition at this point. I gave these a try but they are too small (they do not cover the ball of the foot as in the picture, btw I'm a female size 8) which makes them very very uncomfortable. However, if worn just behind the ball of the feet as a metatarsal pad, it does provide some relief. If you are looking for comfort on the ball of the foot, buy the dancer's pad from Pedifix instead; those are wide enough to cover the whole ball of the foot. Now in terms of thickness, I can wear either product with almost any kind of shoes, with or without my regular orthotics. The product lasts me about 3 months, once the stickiness is not the same and they start to move around, you know it's time to get buy new ones.
