Bought to hang a condenser mic on a desk and so far it's doing the job with no problems. At first I wasn't impressed by the thin materials. When I picked it up, it seemed too fragile to stand up to a heavier microphone. However, it held the position for 2 weeks without any problems and the knurled screws ensure a good hold in the joints. Aside from not feeling significant, note that the total arm extension is small. It barely fits in with the other equipment on my desk, such as monitors, speakers, etc. Carefully consider the mounting options and the ability to position the mic where you need it. Sometimes I see a boom positioned so that the mic hangs in front of the screen, partially blocking it. Poorly. Also, I have to stow the mic when not in use, and the hinge design at the base doesn't offer a smooth, secure action. If I leave the base clamp loose enough to rotate freely, the mic doesn't sound secure. If I tighten the clamp, I can't rotate the arrow without loosening it. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the features and value of the product, but those small design touches would have given it a 5 star rating. .
