Used in the biofilter for my carp pond carp

I can't judge how easy they are to clean because I haven't dealt with them yet. I probably won't clean them. I'll just buy new ones. I made my own biofilter for my home made 500 gallon carp pond. I was concerned that the amount would not be enough and I was right. My biofilter is a 50 gallon water barrel. Second bought and cheers! Doesn't matter! I'm excited!
