I was surprised at how much my 7 month old daughter enjoyed being in this playpen. I wanted something big so she wouldn't feel trapped in a small bed. I needed somewhere for her to crawl and stand up while I have meetings at my home office or need to do something quick like use the bathroom. It was perfect! I bought the mat in the photo separately, but the playpen comes with a nice nylon bottom. Regarding the assembly I thought it would be difficult for me to figure out how to put it together as it was a one page guide with only 5 pictures and no actual instructions but they were pretty easy to follow. Just don't rush to build, otherwise you can easily spoil it. This arena is also durable. I am very happy.
