Better wood chips or sawdust.

I really love this product for wine making. This is much more convenient than shavings or dust clogging the siphon tube. I would suggest you poke a small hole and use fishing line to easily pull it out of the bottle when you're done with this, or you can do like I did and make a rack and just pour it out when the bottle is out empty.
