These are great for hiking when you want something small and compact. OK traction but I do wish the traction were a little better. Great for hikes that go through lots of water. Great for traveling to palces where you will hike as they are light weight and compact. You CAN swim in them if need be (I was hiking in a place that involved a couple of spots where swinning was needed). I would not swim in them if you do not have to, but they are not difficult to swim in if you need to.Great for river hiking and boulder hoping. Will continue to buy. Good price too. I bought a pair for my boy friend as well and he also loves them.
