I have a 33" waist and wear 34" pants so I have a 34" belt. It's all personal preference, but I like the end of the buckle to be longer so I can hold it comfortably when I fasten it. I have carpal tunnel and it hurts to grab the short end. The belt is not to blame. The strap is really good but due to its shape I have to say that it doesn't fit as expected and it's too small, even if only on the outside. I assume this is a "suit" belt, the end of which should fall into the first loop. I don't dress like that and I want function over form. After reading other reviews I see that I'm not the only person with this preference. Also, some people don't like beveled edges, but I think they look smooth. The holes don't fit my waist perfectly so I need to add a custom hole. Nothing bad either. I have a good hit. This is my first time ordering a belt online so I had to learn a bit. I bought it to wear every day and it looks very durable. My SOG Sync II multitool makes an amazing buckle for this and once I put the concho on it should be really good. However, keep in mind that from the last hole to the end of the strap it's only about 3 inches and I would have preferred 5 or 6. Take a slightly longer strap and drill additional holes to compensate. I will know next time.
