I've been using suction cup phone mounts for years because our last car had some really weird air vents that didn't fit air vent clips. Our current car has vertical air vents in the center and horizontal ones on the sides. It doesn't work well for vertical vents, but it works great for horizontal ones. The only issue I had is that it's heavy enough that the vent is facing down. I can still adjust the position of the phone so I can see everything clearly, but on a hot day it means my legs are getting all my precious air conditioning! The build quality of this thing is excellent. The clip holds the phone securely and the button releases it easily. The pivots are adjustable so everything can be held exactly where you want it. Best of all, I no longer have suction cup marks on my windshield!
