I have used many brands of purple shampoo/conditioner. Some performed better than others when tinted. What I liked about this VR set: The price. It might seem expensive to pay over $39 for a duo, but you get a lot of product (32 ounce bottle) and since you don't have to use a lot of product, this set lasts LONG. - Shampoo color. It's DARK, DARK PURPLE. This is important as many of the brands I used were pale lavender and just didn't have enough pigment to fight the yellow/copper. It has pigment and does the job. The shampoo does not dry out the hair. It makes my hair soft and smooth. It wasn't as dry as other brands I've tried. Additional moisture from the air conditioner. The conditioner in this set is much lighter than the shampoo but has enough pigment to tone the hair. It also seems to add some moisture and shine. bottom line. After just one use, my hair was less yellow, most of the yellow tinge was gone, soft and smooth. I'm giving this set four stars instead of five purely because of my personal preference for preferring unscented products. This set has a tolerable smell (mostly mint-menthol scent), but I would have preferred it without any scent at all. One final note aside, I think this set deserves a solid 4 stars.
