I bought this strainer to make spaetzle. I haven't tested it yet, but I have no doubts it will work, at least for a while. The sticker on the screen stated that this product was made in China. When I pay $20 for an item like this, I don't expect it to be made in China. I pay more for German products because I have high hopes for them. I am also concerned that this colander may not be dishwasher safe due to its plastic liner (see uploaded images). The literature that came with the food grinder states that the screens are dishwasher safe, but the screens that came with the food grinder were all metal. It remains to be seen if the plastic insert will tear or fall out with use. It is held in place by small brackets.
