Review on ๐Ÿ“บ Enhance Your TV Experience with the ViewTV 50 Mile Digital TV Antenna - Indoor Amplified HDTV for UHF/VHF 1080P Channels by Yousef Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great but don't expect to pick up channels 50 miles away.

New cable cutter here. After looking at the signal locator map on the TVfool website, I came to the conclusion that I needed an antenna with a 50 mile range. I'm 9 miles from the nearest transmitter, most of which are about 20 miles away. I'm exactly 50 miles from a major city, but I wasn't hoping to pick up these signals. This is because the 50 mile rating is the site limit, meaning it's the expected range with no objects in the way. I live in a one story house with lots of trees around. I'll probably need an attic or outdoor antenna rated about 75 miles if I want to pick up signals from towers 50 miles away. With this antenna I can receive 36 channels. The tower that ABC broadcasts is the farthest I can film without pixelation. It's 35 miles from here. Surprisingly there was no clarity with the antenna hanging on the window as the instructions suggested, but with the antenna on the bookshelf in the corner it was excellent. After the move, I now have all the major channels in HD quality, as well as many other channels of varying appeal. I use an amp and it makes a difference for me, but it's recommended to try it with and without the amp as its usefulness depends on your specific location. In total I spent about 45 minutes testing the antenna in different locations. Now I return my cable box with a smile.
