Review on Replacement Keyless Remote Beetle HLO1J0959753F by Michael Ghosh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked on my '98 Beetle.

Used on a '98 Beetle. Uses a CR2032 instead of a smaller factory battery, muts swap but doesn't work as of 2032. Local blacksmiths had tools to carve key blanks. I had to combine some old posts to get the right recipe for learning new keychains. Here's what worked for me. I had a lot of trouble programming new remotes for my '98 Beetle. Here are the instructions I found that worked with 2 working KEYS and my addons. You don't need to re-learn the currently working REMOTE CONTROLS. With the driver's door open, put the key in the ignition and turn it on. Close the door and use the second key to lock the door. and HOLD IT in the locked (clockwise) position for 10 seconds. Release the key from the locked position. It has to be vertical. Press and release Unlock on the new remote, wait 2 seconds and press Unlock again on the remote. Hazard warning lights flash or horn sounds. Program the remaining NEW REMOTE CONTROLS in the same way. When finished, turn off the ignition and remove the key, check all remote controls.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Hard to say

Excellent product for 2001 Beetle but finding a locksmith who will cut it is not so easy
