These things are very good for a cheap HDD housing, the only thing that bothers me is that the LED is incredibly bright! Well, not enough to blind you, but it's definitely annoyingly bright at night for me. Not enough to stop ordering for my other old drives, just wanted to address that. My Aorus laptop is about 5-6 years old so I replaced the hard drive with an SSD and now I can use the old hard drive for whatever I want. Read/write speeds are okay, but I migrated data from a 5-6 year old HDD to a newer SSD, so the hardware I'm using has limitations. I can't say for sure what the SSD to SSD speed will be with this case. I ordered another one to replace the HDD in a 2012 MacBook Pro (I think) with an SSD. There may have been people wondering if it works on Windows or Mac and I can say yes, both hard drives are from laptops. Overall I would buy these again for any hard drive I come across, it's just personal preference, nothing against this case. For an SSD I would personally take a black case, which I would do. I would definitely recommend this as a simple and cheap HDD/SSD enclosure. Worth a try!
