My husband uses a different color for dark hair and I don't understand why as a woman I can't use it. My hair is dyed, but I have gray roots. I wanted to see if I could just wash out the gray roots. Try it. The strangest thing about the instructions is that they tell you not to use your fingertips to apply. I don't know why they just don't include gloves. No traces of paint were left on the hands after the first use. However; With each subsequent use, oxidation would cause the product to turn purple on the spout and then mark my fingers, and I had to be sure not to stain the tub. I used it 5 days in a row. I see less grey. A few more times and I think it'll be over. I'm not sure if the rest of my hair will darken. Maybe not as I won't be using it as my exclusive shampoo. It doesn't seem to damage my hair. Dye the roots no more than every 3 weeks. It's easier to make than any feminine product I've tried. Why make "only for men"? I write reviews because I like to read reviews before buying/not buying. I am not interested in the reviewer telling me what the seller has already told me about the product. I want to know what the buyer/reviewer thinks is particularly good or bad. I value the opinions of others.
