I live in a town that uses mostly well water that is high in calcium. I was concerned about the lead levels and tired of the awful taste of the water. Up to this point I have treated drinking water with an expired under counter filter and a Brita pitcher filter which does not filter well (and does not filter lead). This under-sink water filter was a good choice for long-lasting filters that filter out lead. The opaque housing allows you to monitor the condition of the filter. The filter replacement price is great too, only $20! Installation was easy, but I had to buy a $4 adapter at a hardware store to fit my current spigot. If you currently use a 1/4 inch water line, consider purchasing a nozzle adapter. I used a 1/4" x 1/2" nptf adapter (shown in my pictures). The filter assembly included metal tubing that had to be routed to the wall and was well connected with no leaks. I attached the new adapter I bought and snapped onto the water line. I turned on the water supply and washed the filter for 10 minutes. The water tastes significantly better than my previous setup and I'm relieved to know it's filter lead. After just over a week of use, the water continues to come out with micro-bubbles of air, making the water cloudy for about 10 seconds. I suspect this may be due to the alkaline stage of the filter. Very happy with this filter so far, highly recommend! Excellent price and specifications.
