I bought this shoe because I wanted a good hiking shoe - I wanted to hike a lot in another country. The fit was good overall. I had two shoe issues and both were heel related. First, the heel on the top of my foot was short. I'm not sure if it's because the inside of the shoe is softer (which is great for my heel spur) or it's just not made well. The second problem was that when I put my foot in the shoe, the heel falls through and it's difficult to get it out again without a shoehorn. This in turn makes the heel VERY uncomfortable. As this is not a cheap shoe I was generally disappointed with it. I've worn them on many outings. I hope the longer I wear them the better they feel. I will not be buying another pair at this time.
