Review on MASTERCOOL 98234 Socket by Aaron Schultz

Unlike other reviewers, I don't think the Mastercool Socket deserves a 5 star rating due to the high price and the resulting product did not exceed my expectations. The description says 'Made of the highest quality' but the plug is from China. HmmAa expensive as it is unnamed, Chinese made socket cost, it had to be clad in red chrome or have identification markings painted or engraved on the socket to distinguish it from other sockets when included in the end user toolkit. I teach air conditioning to my teenage son so I used a marker to draw a red ring around the outlet so he can easily identify the outlet with the tall side fitting (red/large). I believe he can size up the high side mounting socket before the paint wears off. Colored tape works too. The Mastercool chrome finish looks really polished and feels durable. The socket is 3/8" drive and fits snugly into the high side Schrader valve fittings. Regardless of origin, these sockets should last a lifetime as Schrader valve fittings are not overtightened or the O- Ring can be damaged.
