Inexpensive Polisher: Grinder and Buffer

I had to paint my car before I could apply a new ceramic coating; So I tried this buffer and it worked great as I expected from a double action random orbital buffer. 1) At less than 6 lbs, it's relatively light, but just enough to put enough pressure on the paint with its own weight. Presumably we should let the weight of the puffer do most of the work while we just need to keep it secure so it doesn't bounce or bounce. 2) It includes a few user preference buttons, but personally none of these were needed for me when working on my machine. I prefer to hold it without a handle. I may use the pens in the future when I'm working on another project around the house that requires more pressure than working with car paint. 3) This is a great buffer just for the price; and the pads provided are a nice bonus for using in other areas of the house such as flooring, woodwork etc but if you intend to use it on a car please do yourself a favor and grab some branded pads for the job . . When working with car paint there is no room for error. All fenders are more or less the same, but using the right padding is what will make or break your weekend project. 4) If you need a buffer but can only get one, buy a random double-action orbital buffer instead of a swing buffer. The double action is much easier to use and much more forgiving. Much luck.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
