Review on Renewed SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless Gaming Headset with USB-C and Clearcast Microphone Compatible with Multiple Devices in Black by Laura Walters

If you love competitive FPS, don't buy.

Astro A10 used for 3 years. I decided to take a wireless headset which is not too expensive and more convenient. But it was a downgrade despite the $100 price tag. Footsteps cannot be heard clearly. This headset lacks high frequencies. Despite the various sound presets in the software, which you can tweak to what you like, it's not loud. It's really hard to spot footprints in competitive shooters like Valorant and CSGO. There is also no basis, listening to Spotify or other music is boring. It's frustrating when I die a lot because I don't hear footsteps from the side. I've tweaked the audio quality multiple times and I'm still not satisfied. I was better with A10s. Never had a problem, the only reason I upgraded was for the wireless connectivity and convenience. Speaking of comfort, I checked out a few YouTube reviews before purchasing. This headset won for the price of a $100 wireless headset for maximum comfort, which is another big factor in why I bought it. It's garbage. Build quality is lower than the $60 A10. Super cheap plastic, very light and the plush pad on the headband came off the frame after a month. It doesn't feel solid or has a slightly heavy premium feel. The ear cushions are normal but not deep. My ear scratches the actual speaker and the pads tear or fall off after a while because they are removable. Not that convenient. I would have preferred the A10 with thick, heavy pads, but my ears never get irritated despite the heavy weight up to 7+ hours of playtime. Media controls are good, easy to disable and volume up/down. The only big plus of this headset is the battery life and charging speed. This headset scores 75% a little over an hour later. It is fully charged via USB in an hour and a half. The battery life is amazing. Although not specific, it takes a very, very long time. I charge it once or twice a week. This is perhaps the only plus of this headset. In general, the sound quality is not for you if you are a competitive gamer. Trail noise is hard to spot unless you really focus and keep your crosshairs on where it's coming from. Not noisy, no base and no software settings. The quality of the microphone is terrible and the wireless headset is really terrible compared to many other headsets. I should have stayed with my A10s which have very good build quality, crystal clear mic and comfort at a lower price point. Don't buy this headset if you want to upgrade it. Research better and spend money better. Disappointed and frustrated with how terrible this headset is.
