The problems I've encountered are very small and easy to fix. This starter was ordered for a 91 foot Ford F350 with a 460 cid engine. The motor has a 2-hole mount, so the third hole was simply not used on this starter. On the original starter, one of the holes was tapped so the screw would first go through the bell housing and then thread into the starter. I simply used a screw that was not included in the kit to thread it through two unthreaded holes. This year's Ford uses a relay in the engine compartment to energize the starter, while this starter uses a solenoid to actuate the bendix and energize the starter. So I routed the wire that went from the starter to the original relay to the battery terminal and a separate wire from the relay drive to the back of the solenoid on the new starter. As for the starter, it works perfectly. Spins the engine a little faster when starting. Nothing to complain about, but it works perfectly.
