To use less plastic bags I bought this type when I bring a sandwich to work (a few times a week). This worked exactly as I had hoped. It's very durable (more than necessary, but how could that be a bad thing?). I use large rectangular bread slices (Arnold, Pepperidge Farm). You have to be careful when cutting the sandwich as there isn't much room in each divider. That is, the two sides must be cut symmetrically. Again, that's rather a good thing as the container takes up less room in my lunch bag. I'm a fan of turkey and cheese sandwiches. I will say that if you add additives like lettuce, tomato, etc., you probably won't be able to close the lid. So nothing for Dagwood Bumstead types (ask your parents).
