I've been a member of the D-Link family since using the DIR-882, but when I saw the DIR-X5460 for sale on Prime Day I had to give a push despite the imminent release of WiFi make -6E routers in the near future . This is a significant leap over my old router as it has a lot more power thanks to the new Wi-Fi 6 capability. The only two Wi-Fi 6 enabled devices I had to test were my OnePlus 8 phone and a desktop wireless card. -Fi, which I also found on offer. This increased the transfer speed on my phone from 866Mbps to 1200Mbps! I have a number of smart home devices and they all connect very quickly. Setup was easy and even the firmware was automatically updated to the latest version. There is very little dropout when switching my desktop from a wired connection to a wireless connection. It even has cloud-based router support for receiving voice commands, but I find its functionality pretty buggy and unwieldy. It would be much easier to log into the router and make the necessary changes in its easy-to-use GUI rather than using the language features, which are more limited to toggling the guest network status and rebooting the router. I feel like I can get a lot of value out of this router as it will be a while before Wi-Fi 6e adoption rates are high enough to want to upgrade from this high performance router. Feel free to buy if you are looking for another wireless router as you will hardly find one with so much performance at a reasonable price.
