This is a nice-looking clock that I found easy to set up. It also has a small footprint on a nightstand. But I'm returning it, and here's why. I'm not crazy about a cord, but thought I'd live with it if I liked the clock well enough (the batteries are for backup only). The dimmest setting wasn't dim enough for me, but I figured I could do a workaround if I liked the clock. The dealbreaker? It constantly toggles between the time and the date. Ummm, it's an alarm clock, so my primary concern is the *time* not the date. Who wants to wake up in the middle of the night and see that it's 2018?! Maybe someone does, but that someone wasn't me. So if you don't mind a cord, a display that may be bright for you, and the toggling, go for it. Otherwise, you might want to keep looking.
