We live in North Phoenix and decided to buy based on the many positive reviews. We wanted to get rid of the cable and many of my neighbors said they could pick up a lot of channels with a 40 mile antenna. The antenna came in a nicely packaged box. The instructions were very clear. At first I didn't put it near the window, and despite this, the antenna picked up about 4-5 channels. Later I placed it near a south window (because that's where the TV towers were) and did an autoscan. Presto - over 40+ channels revealed! Of those 40, about 30 were clean and the rest weren't. I noticed that when I moved the antenna the other 10 channels were clear and some of the 30 channels were not. My wife and I selected the channels we were likely to watch and also tuned in to a few kids channels so we tuned in the antenna. As soon as it became convenient for us, we attached the antenna to the window. I had to use a power supply to amplify the signals. I am happy with this purchase. Note. Once you've gotten enough channels, make a note of the position of the antenna so if that doesn't work you can go back and place it where it was before.
