Apple is known for producing products that are quirky and imperfect, and the Magic Mouse is no exception. It provides a handy interface for managing your iMac. The differences between version 2 and version 1 are likely not significant enough to warrant replacements being made. Unless you are extremely worn out from constantly switching out the batteries. Has some pros: 1. Charging is less labor intensive, more time efficient, and more financially rewarding than replacing batteries. 2. I replaced the cover that slides over the bottom. The mouse now glides much more smoothly and quietly than it did in version 1. 3. Bluetooth that is more stable than version 1 (although it's possible that these are attributes of individual instances). Having these drawbacks: 1. A little bit of push, but it's still more abrasive and noisier than the Magic 1
